biography
Caroline grew up in Yorkshire, before moving to Paris at the age of eighteen to take a gap year. She then went on to read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Trinity College, Oxford, where she rediscovered her love of acting. Whilst at university, she performed in a diverse number of roles from the innocent Winnie in Daisy Pulls It Off to the flirtatious ‘Pussy’ in a new adaptation of Aristophanes’ Lysistrata. She also appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe, playing the lead female in a new writing piece called Autodestruct and as embittered old spinster Agnes in Peter Nichols’ Passion Play.
Following university, Caroline’s drama training began in earnest; she completed the six month foundation course at the Oxford School of Drama, and then won a place on the postgraduate acting course at Drama Studio London. Roles whilst training include Masha in The Seagull, Feste in Twelfth Night, Alice in Patrick Marber’s Closer and Mrs Sullen in The Beaux Strategm.
Since graduating Caroline has worked regularly with First Draft Theatre Company who produce new writing plays, one of the highlights being A Public Kind of Privacy by Dougie Blaxland. The play had a short tour of the south-west followed by three weeks at the White Bear in Kennington. Caroline played Her, the conscience/younger self of a rising female politician and the play was nominated for Best Show at the Brighton Fringe. Caroline has also appeared in numerous pantomimes, and is an experienced improviser, having worked with Infusion Improv both in a corporate capacity and in live shows at the Clerkenwell Theatre.
Most recently, Caroline filmed a music video for Tricycle Days by Mint. It was an underwater shoot, in which she played the girlfriend in the ‘kissing couple’, and was directed by Rob Hackett. Caroline also appeared in a short film Patience by the same director in which she played a nurse. Patience won both Best Short Film at the Central Florida Film Festival 2008 and Best International Short at the Staten Island Film Festival 2008.
In her spare time Caroline enjoys writing and is also a keen dancer, attending regular classes in street, jazz, commercial and aerobics. She speaks excellent French, as well as basic Spanish, German and Japanese, and loves to travel whenever she gets the opportunity. She also enjoys skiing, horse riding and tennis.
